AdSense Approval Strategy for New Sites

Tool sites with minimal content get rejected by AdSense. The review process checks for substantive content, not just functionality. A strategic workaround: launch as a content blog, get approved, then pivot to your actual product.

The Approval Problem

AdSense combines automated and manual review. Automated systems check traffic and code integration. Manual reviewers evaluate content quality and depth. A single-page tool site fails the content quality check regardless of how useful the tool actually is.

New sites also lack the traffic history that signals legitimacy. Without visitors, reviewers have no engagement data to evaluate. The combination of thin content and no traffic almost guarantees rejection.

The Content-First Approach

Deploy a WordPress blog on your domain before building your tool. WordPress structures content in ways Google recognizes and trusts. The platform has decades of SEO optimization built into its DNA.

Publish 15-30 original articles over two to four weeks. One or two posts per day demonstrates active management. The content doesn’t need to be exceptional, but it must be original and substantive enough to appear genuinely useful.

Timing the Application

After accumulating content and showing consistent publishing activity, submit your AdSense application. The reviewer sees an active blog with original content, meeting their quality thresholds.

Approval typically follows if your content appears valuable and your site shows genuine activity. The account becomes verified and eligible for payments.

The Pivot

Once approved, your AdSense account can serve ads on other properties. You can either add your tool site as an additional property under the same account or redirect the domain to your actual product.

Established accounts reviewing new properties face less scrutiny than first-time applications. The blog served its purpose as an approval vehicle; the tool becomes your actual business.

Supporting Factors

Traffic helps. Even modest visitor numbers signal that real users find value in your site. Drive some initial traffic through social sharing or community participation before applying.

Avoid any policy violations during the application window. No ads on error pages. No problematic content categories. Clean execution during review protects your approval.
